Executive Officer's Personal Log

"Computer begin log... Well finally it is the night before we are to leave the station and set forth on our first mission. The Captain has been in meetings all day pertaining to just that. As for me I have been in meetings as well, checking in with all of the department heads to make sure that they are ready to leave in the morning. Well as of now all seems ship shape and bristol fashion. Yid says all that he and his team have left is a few minor repairs that can be taken care of after we leave dock. I am happy the Lt Commander Yid has agreed to sign off on my official grievance to the ship yards. I will take that to the Captain tomorrow, for his final seal on that. Well, that about sums up ship's business."

"Now, for somethings a little more personal. First I am happy that my old friend Harrison Hester has joined this crew. It is nice to see a familiar face wandering the ship. However, I wonder about him... When I went to see the security department to check on their readiness he seemed like he was somewhere else, mentally I mean. I wonder if he ever truly got over the loss of Jewel. I hope for his sake that he has. It seems that I may be bonding with Cadet Paragon. He is a good man and will make a fine officer one day. He just needs to get over all of his foibles. I hope that my guidance can help with that. While some of the crew have accepted me with open arms. Others have been a little apprehensive. Nothing non-professional, just a little stand offish. However, I believe I can win them over it will just take some time and effort. Speaking of time and effort, with a little bit of that I managed to go on a date of sorts, with Lieutenant Hollister. I think it went well and she even gave me a kiss on the cheek good night, which is a huge 180 from the way she was acting before. I don't know if she meant the gesture as a romantic overture or as a friendly gesture. While I hope the former I will surely accept the latter. Only more time will tell."

"Well, my next log will be when the ship is in open space... Here is to getting out there..."
